The Story Behind the Game: From a Notebook to an App
Born from passion. Built through setbacks. Ready for its next chapter.
Nemundir began as a handwritten rulebook in the summer of 2000 - a teenager's obsession that refused to stay small. Over the following years it grew into a published tabletop RPG system, a living world with its own mythology, mechanics, and community of players. The dream of connecting that physical world to a digital companion took shape at GDC in 2015, when the concept received its name: Hybrid TTRPG. What followed was a decade of solo development, setbacks, restarts, and one stubborn designer who never stopped building. That journey became Magency.
Past
The core rulebook arrived in 2007, then Book of Crypts in 2010, introducing undead return mechanics that locked in Nemundir's darker identity. A notebook idea became a published system.
Present
Magency now runs as a Hybrid TTRPG companion in Unreal Engine 5, linking tabletop flow into one CRPG-like interface with native Pixels Bluetooth dice support. Closed beta is already live.
Future
Early Access is planned for Steam and iOS in Q4 2026, followed by the full Core Book in 2027. The next step is creating further expansions from the content built so far, while growing a strong community.
